We’re Sarah & Aaron, the husband and wife team behind Good Folk Studio, based on the Mornington Peninsula. Sarah captures honest, sun-soaked moments through family photography, couples and brand photography, while Aaron brings stories to life through relaxed, cinematic brand videography. Together, we create natural, story-led photo and video for families, couples and brands who want something real, not over-posed or over-produced.

Sessions at a private cottage in Merricks on Saturday May 30th.

Tucked away in the heart of Merricks, this enchanting 1920s weatherboard cottage surrounded by towering manna gums and peaceful, park-like gardens is the perfect setting for something slow, natural, and full of feeling. For one day only, I’m opening up 30-minute sessions at this property, designed for families, couples, maternity, engagements, or simply capturing a moment in time. You can choose to be photographed inside the soft, nostalgic charm of the cottage, wander through the gum trees outside, or blend both for a beautifully varied gallery. These sessions are relaxed, honest, and connection-focused; no pressure, no posing, just you as you are in a space that feels like home.

We’re raising two wildlings here on the Peninsula, surrounded by the nature we’re so grateful for, and that shapes everything we do. We’re committed to running a low-impact, eco-conscious business, following a “leave no trace” approach in our sessions and choosing sustainable, eco-friendly practices wherever we can. For us, it’s about creating beautiful work while caring for the places we shoot in and the people we work with, good stories, told well, with intention.
